This year’s Met Gala turned out to be a font of extraordinary wrist candy—the theme was “The Garden of Time,” after all—but it wasn’t the only event where celebs wore beautiful bling this week.
During the Miami Grand Prix, for example, Oracle Red Bull racer Max Verstappen rocked TAG Heuer’s newly released Formula 1 watch, Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton donned IWC’s Big Pilot’s Watch AMG G 63, and singer Ed Sheeran sported the freshly debuted Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar “John Mayer.” Moser also unveiled a new pink tourbillon at the GP. (Robb Report was there to see the limited-edition Moser beauty in all its glory, naturally.)
Over at the Netflix is a Joke festival, NFL GOAT Tom Brady wore a custom Audemars Piguet Royal Oak and comedian Tony Hinchcliffe flexed a classic Rolex Submariner Date. Not to be outdone, actor Simu Liu flexed an eye-catching Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Chronograph at a photo call and NFL player Amon-Ra St. Brown showed off a Rolex Day-Date 40 at the Kentucky Derby.
Forget Mercedes and Ferrari. Ed Sheeran supported fellow singer John Mayer at this year’s Miami Grand Prix. The British musician was spotted wearing the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar “John Mayer” during race weekend. The limited edition pairs an 18-carat white-gold case and bracelet with the Swiss watchmaker’s striking new embossed “Crystal Sky” dial. It is also the last limited-edition timepiece to house AP’s acclaimed caliber 5134, for many on of the best mechanical movements in modern history. The perpetual calendar displays the week, day, date, astronomical moon, month, leap year, hours, and minutes, no less. Limited to just 200 examples, the John Mayer special will set you back $180,700.
